London calling... wait, did you just hang up on me?

I live in London during term now. Woe/Woo is me. Anyway, my beautiful friend Remy Ciuba (a regularly featured cool kid on this blog) has agreed to take over the running of My New Muse when I'm not around. I'll still help out when in Belfast and hopefully give the occasional blighty based injection, but she's becoming my grasshopper and taking over the reigns. It seems a little pointless to move the operation over here when this town is saturated by such projects, and it just wouldn't feel right anyway. When I'm next home I will complete her inauguration and present her with the coveted chalk board. If you're reading this, thanks for sticking with me over the last two years of (sparse) blogging! Upwards and ontopwards.

belfast has recently exploded in a hubbub of style, laughter, gigs and goodness. it's hard to ignore the complete disregard that my generation has adopted towards the whole julytime nonsense. i am spending these few summer months truly enjoying what my hometown has to offer, as belfast promoters have slammed their distinctly neutral feet onto the events accelerator. maybe it's the almost chatterly sense of taboo still lurking amoung our parentage, but us young'uns are seemingly more determined than ever to continue partying. add a drop of sun to this already delightful state of affairs, and people spotting becomes far less laborious. there's no sign of the cultural outburst stopping either, with glasgowbury tomorrow and the trans festival still not over. all that's left to do now is hope and pray the good mood of the youth prevails, before we retreat back into our apathetic winter daze.

there should be one more here of the beautiful lady i snapped at the bang boutique opening, but unfortunately my new camera plus my unsteady hands rendered the photo useless. note to self - be better at everything. also, the little gothic-lolita-in-the-making above is a mere 13 years old, which i believe is entirely worth mentioning.

apologies, yet again, for my complete ignorance of this blog. i've now got my hands on a small film camera which is much more practical to carry around. from now on i'll be sticking up a mixture of blackboard/no blackboard images depending on whether i was carrying it or if it was a truly spontaneous photo. here's one of will and matthew to whet your appetite until i get through another film.

You really are never quite sure how much you need a chalkboard until you own one. Pestering students, hitting pensioners, getting dublin based beauties 'Fight Like Apes' to play your favourite track, and even using it as a make-shift umbrella. In fact, the possibilities only end with your patience when you get sick of lugging it around. However, I believe it's worth it. By letting the wonderfully gracious people I photograph write anything they want, it really does give a bit of an insight into their loves and ludicrous mental processes. It also gives the poor nervous ones something to do with their hands.

Amanda (above) is from Australia and works in Urban Outfitters. Her jacket is from Uniqlo and her necklace is an antique from Portebello road.

This beautiful girl's name has escaped me. I'm not going to forget in a hurry that she's only 14 though.

As you can see, I'm still at this blogging stuff and I have been for more than 6 months now. This is due to a very surprising amount of page views (danke schon) and the aesthetically interesting around the city. Now, the time has come for me to ask something of you. Please, you look lovely.
